From the Polaris World group, La Torre Resort Spain is turning out to become a top draw among the finest holiday resorts in Europe today for golf breaks and villa holidays. It already is one of the favourite resort destinations for a Spanish holiday. There are many factors working in favour of La Torre’s reputation.
From the hotel and many of the villas and apartments, one can see a breath-taking panorama of the resort’s Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. Visitors are also attracted to the resort’s accessibility (30 minutes from San Javier airport in Murcia and 60 minutes from the Alicante airport.)
The biggest attraction, of course, is the La Torre Golf course. For the avid golf aficionados, being a resident of La Torre means having a unique opportunity of playing some of Spain’s finest golf courses.
Resident-golfers at La Torre can also play at Mar Menor, Hacienda Riquelme and El Valle golf courses, all designed by Jack Nicklaus. (A shuttle bus is on service.) Golf is the top sport here because there are more than 320 days of sun all year, with 21º average temperature.
The beautiful apartments and villas of La Torre are also attractions in themselves. These are elegant detached villas, 1, 2, or 3-bedroom apartments, and 2 and 3-bedroom detached luxury villas with private pools.
InterContinental La Torre Golf Resort Hotel
The 5-star InterContinental La Torre Golf Resort Hotel offers 133 luxury rooms and suites, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and several restaurants. It houses the famous La Torre Spa and a full conference centre for business meetings.
The restaurants in the hotel offer a variety of dining options for the guests. The many leisure activities available the whole year round in the hotel usually have complements of additional events and shows.
Apartments and villas
La Torre Resort has a range of many tastefully designed properties with different number of rooms and other amenities. All holidays villas and apartments, however, come fully-furnished with modern kitchen appliances. These are for residents who opt to prepare their own meals even while on holidays.
These beautifully appointed holiday villas and apartments are available for rental all year round, offering some of the best value for money in Southern Spain.
Other household appliances that come with these residences include washing machines, dishwashers, DVD players, air conditioners, and TV sets.
La Torre Resort Spa
Another crowd-drawer in La Torre Resort complex is the La Torre Resort Spa, considered one of the finest Spa and Wellness Zones in southern Spain. The spa has six treatment rooms, a dry sauna, steam sauna and ice fountain.
Newly arrived guests start their holidays with a relaxing stint at the exclusive Thai Room Spa. Within the spa, there are a number of therapies with various applications.
Some of the Thai massages focus on the body’s energy map and acupressure points. Others opt for the Thai Room Ultimate, a massage that uses fine cloth pouches filled with coriander and cloves. The whole treatment can last for an hour and a half.
Town square
La Torre Resort Spain has a quaint Town square which is located within easy walking distance from the InterContinental La Torre Resort Hotel and the luxury villas and apartments. Within the square are more restaurants, bars, pubs, and other shops. (Acacia Restaurant serves pizza, pasta, risotto, and other Italian favourites. La Encina has a buffet-style eatery and offers a wide range of choices from tasty salads all the way to Japanese sushi.)
The other restaurants cover some Asian, Mediterranean and the traditional Spanish cuisine. The bars around have a wide variety of wines (Spanish and other imported ones) beers, and other liquor to choose from.
The Town square sits on the shore of a picturesque large lake. During summer nights, all the bars and restaurants come alive with people enjoying the evening and the atmosphere around.
Out of town
For the more adventurous, check out the historical Roman theatre in Cartagena. The place is famous for narrow streets and authentic Spanish boutiques. (It is only 20 minutes from the hotel.)
You can also visit the Murcia Cathedral (constructed around the 1400s) and marvel at the history and tradition embedded all over the structure. You can even sample some local Murcian cuisine while you’re at it.
